Celebrating a Successful Year

We are pleased to present this annual report of HSMAI Americas’ programs, activities, and other accomplishments in 2019. This was an impressive year for us, anchored by the smash debut of our Sales Leader Forum, which along with our Marketing Strategy Conference and ROC event now gives us a flagship program for each of the three pillars we serve — including dedicated homes for our annual Lifetime Achievement awards for hospitality sales, marketing, and revenue optimization. The Sales Leader Forum was far from our only success in 2019. Among other highlights of our year:

CRME study guide: We published Evolving Dynamics: From Revenue Management to Revenue Strategy, a completely revised and updated edition of the official study guide for our Certified Revenue Management Executive (CRME) certification — as well as the 5th Edition of Hospitality Digital Marketing Essentials: A Field Guide for Navigating Today’s Digital Landscape, the study guide for our Certified Hospitality Digital Marketer (CHDM) certification.

Curate: We produced two Curate executive insight forums — the signature benefit for our Organizational Member companies, bringing together thought leaders in hospitality sales, marketing, and revenue optimization for a cross-disciplinary interactive experience.

CRMA: We debuted a certification for hospitality students — the Certified Revenue Management Analyst.

CHRO: The HSMAI Foundation presented the first-ever Chief Human Resource Officer Executive Roundtable at Best Western’s headquarters campus in Phoenix.

Professional development: We hired a full-time director of professional development, who will focus on creating online education programs.

Everything else: We kept doing what we’ve always done — including running the Adrian Awards, producing strategy conferences, administering the CRME, CHDM and CHBA, presenting eight Executive Roundtables and developing timely, relevant content for sales, marketing, and revenue optimization professionals.

As you read about these and other accomplishments, please take a moment to accept our thanks for your support of HSMAI throughout 2019. We couldn’t do any of this without the involvement of our dedicated community of hospitality professionals.
